Another 'early wake up' before 5 am. We had been warned that if one wants to get a parking place one better be there early...so we were. Standing outside of the halls for well past an hour but yes, we had a car very close, LOL. It was past 90 basenjis today so we were looking forward a long day but our judge, Mrs Irene Terry of Zizunga basenjis (UK), knew what she wanted and did good and quick job. We decided that Irina will handle Tutsi by herself and so did she - CONGRATULATIONS Irina for JUNIOR WORLD WINNER 2008 BULLDOBAS TOP TOTTY! Our warmest congrats also to Norway and Kingwana's 'Loke' with his people for another JWW-08 title! Soni was a handful :-), duh, but placed 2nd with Excellent out of a worthy class of 16 open males. Winner was a lovely sire of my Diva-litter, C-Quest's Echo of Eldorado - congratulations Noel! Echo had actually finished his SWE Ch title before but due the regulations of the World Show, he was not able to be moved to a CH-class...so, Soni actually was Best in Open of non Swedish CH's. He also went to win ResCC later on so not bad from Mr Busybody! Little Neela placed again - this time 3rd in her class with Excellent. Today Zina & Echo got Very Goods, among many others. It was a nice day and I cincerely lift my hat for both of our lovely judges, Damara & Irene, for a job well done. Did not envy them when they had to make their choises out of many high quality and big classes. At the hotel we opened a bottle of bubbling and did the routines like normally - car was packed again ready due our very early wake up again to catch the ferry on Mon morning and a long trip back home was to start.....Thank you Tiina for a nice company! WE'LL POST PHOTOS OF THE SHOWS LATER WHEN WE GET SOME so watch this place! 4th July: Almare Stäket - CIRCUIT SHOW A nice but tiresome trip to Sweden begun when I packed Neela & our stuff into a car and started to drive towards Turku. We met Soni & Tiina in Humppila, changed a car and drove to a ferry. Early on Sat. morning we arrived in Stockholm after few hours of sleep only and tried to figure out how to get to Almare Stäket where the Circuit Show was held: Tiina did not have any maps on her car and a not-so-clever navigator told us to drive through a tunnel which we found out was closed....Duh. It took a while and lots of 'wrong turnings' when the navigator did not really co-operate but we managed after all. It was nice meeting many friends from all over, Liv & Dag from Norway, Anja & RoseMarie from Germany and several Americans ofcourse - lots of fun :-). It was Damara Bolte judging and entry in basenjis were past 60. Soni & Neela were both placed in their classes with Excellent (Soni 3rd, Neela 4th), Zina got Excellent, Echo Very Good but sweet little Tutsi got scared of something on the table and did not let Damara to go through her :-( getting cannot-be-judged. It was quite odd since she is very outgoing and easy girl - still cannot beleive it but maybe I just was not familiar enough for her at the table as I had not seen her more than once since she moved out as a pup...A darn pity esp. since Damara said she is a real STANDOUT what she surely is! Boy we all were tired when we finally got back to the hotel! After eaten first time during the day and feeding & walking the dogs, I was ready to go to sleep - only after 8 pm. 29th June: added new pics of Zina, Taika, Siri, Riina & Cisse! 27th-28th June: Finnish Sighthound Club Specialty in Mustiala. Unfortunately I was not able to witness the BLACK FLASH on Friday when an INT LC Competition was held but was happy to get the news :-)! WELL DONE KIDS! Mama Myy and her black, young and nicelooking kiddos Nuuskis and Nyyti did just great! At the end, Nuuskis and mama Myy got the CC's, Soni was 2nd in males, Nyyti 4th in females and Kerttu 7th in females, all with CQ :-). Wäinö had bad luck in his first competition :-(, lovely run but something happened when the boys 'dissapeared' behind the bushes and he got DISK. Sigh. That is life...rotten luck! On Sat. morning, after a more or less sleepless night I started driving to Mustiala at wee hours - no dogs from home going, just went to take a part and handle some of ours. It was pretty sunny here but closer I got, the worse and colder the weather get. The grass was still very wet of lots of rain during the week and naturally :-( basenjis started first in the morning with pups..... Oh my. Thanks heaven the sun started to shine soon and the grass got a bit dryer during the judging....Anyway, it was Eli-Marie Klepp from Norway to judge and like always was great for our dogs (meaning basenjis generally :-)). Baby Juno - Bulldobas Crush On You - went 2nd Best Malepup (5-7 mths) with an Honour Prize. Timon's son from Estonia was 3rd....sorry, did not have a catalogue so I'm a bit 'out' of the rest. In femalepups darling little Riina was shown for the first time - Bulldobas AmberElla 5 mths this week - and she did great going Best Femalepup out of all and BOS pup so we were more than thrilled of her start! In adults - Soni 2nd Best Male, Nuuskis Winners Dog & CC, Mama Diva BOS and Nyyti Winners Bitch & CC :-) so that was alllllll right :-)!? It was great to see so many friends and our dogs - THANK YOU EVERYONE for coming - you are just great! Photos can be seen here! 22nd June: Rovaniemi INT, judged by Mrs Tuula Savolainen (Finland): Timon was again BOB with CACIB and Tuuli was BB3! Today was also another show in Norway, judged by Mrs Saija Juutilainen (FIN): Luna was BOB & BIG-3 puppy and Zina was BB2 with CC! :-) 21st June: Luna won BOB & BIS-6 puppy in Norway today under judge Gunnar Nymann (DK)! Finny sends HUGE congratulations to his sister Sophie for the great success at her very first show: WB/BW/BOB and best Bred-By-Exhibitor and later on she also won Group-4 and another Group-4 in Bred-By Hound group :-) Today was also INT show in Gällivare, Sweden, judged by Mr Roberto Schill (Romania) - Timon was BOB with CC & CACIB and this makes him new International & Nordic & S CH! Huge congratulations Hansu & Janne :-) Tuuli was BB3. 14th June: Kotka INT, judged by Mr Steven H Seymour (Australia) - Neela was only one of ours entered and she was BB4. Reino's handsome son Masterbolt Tornado was BOS with CC from Junior Class out of 14 amstaffs, judged by Mrs Tiina Paukku (Finland)! :-) 8th June: Tuuri, judged by Mr Harto Stockmari (Finland) - Myy was BOB! 7th-8th June: The Finnish Basenji Club's Specialty at Kiljava, judged by Mr Hans Lehtinen. Such a lovely weekend with my friends again! We had great time grilling and having fun, THANK YOU everyone! Special thanks go to Hansu's SuperMan :-) aka Janne, who kindly handled Rene for BIS-puppy, Milla for BIS and their own Timon for 2nd Best Male - WOWWEE! In malepuppies 5-7 mths (20) Bulldobas showed 3 out of 4 placings - Rene 1st, Finny (Ankhu) 2nd and Karma 4th - all with Honour Prizes! Also Luka was picked up among 6 bests but he was not very co-operative and did not place. You can read his superb critic from his own 'window'. Thanks Anna for helping out with Karma & Stara! In femalepuppies we only had 1 girl to show and yep - Little Maisa went 3rd with an HP. Rytmi won Junior Males and ended up 4th Best Male out of 33 males with a CC (ie was like Winners Dog in USA-system) and Wäinö won Intermediate class with Excellent. Ami, Soni, Urho, Eino and Timon all got Excellents out of CH-class, and Timon topped to 2nd Best Male! WELL DONE! In females Neela was 2nd in Juniors with Excellent, Stara got Very Good from Intermediate class, Tamu won Working Class with Excellent and sisters Milla and Diva got Excellents from Open Class. This time Tuuli only got Very Good, but with a very nice critic. As icing on the cake Milla went to win BIS!!!!! I am sure that EVERYONE of Basenji folks would like to say their huge Thank You's for our judge Hasse. You did great job and like always, your superb sense of humour brightened our days :-). 1st June: Group 5 show in the same place, our judge was a pleasing lady Maret Kärdi from Estonia. None of 'our car' had been entered except Finny for the minor pups, just to get him some practise. We were glad to meet Tiina Tootma of Solebad basenjis too; She came over with all 4 of Timon's Estonian pups and yep, she even won BOB with her lovely Ally-girl that she kept at home :-)! Congratulations Tiina!!! There were 7 pups total and of them Finny went to win BOS-puppy and sweet Juno went 2nd also with HP. Weather was great and company could not have gotten better so a lovely day to hang out at the show. Oh - and huge congratulations for Camilla who won BOS in adults and finished Ciara's (a Phoebus-daughter, CH Liljeborg's Dan Galina of Phoebus) EST CH title!!! Must say I was dead tired when I finally was at home at about 11 pm on Sunday evening but it surely was a trip worth making - we'll do it again guys!!! 31st May: Estonian Winner 2008 show. Tiina A had come with Soni & Juno too, though Luka was the only one of the pups that could be shown yet - he was 6 mths a day before the show. A judge was a Natalja Nekrosine from Lithuania. Little Luka did not quite know what was up and did not want to pose much really, how ever, when he moved he really moved :-). Honour Prize and BOB-puppy... Wäinö was 2nd in junior males with Excellent - congrats to Faro who went to win the class as well as BOB! Soni RunnerUp Best Male with CACIB and CC so also finished his EST CH title!!!! Neela 3rd Best Bitch and Estonian Junior Winner 2008. 30th May: Once again a car was packed with all the doggystuff: We were off to Estonia - Neela, Luka & me as well as the Boys: Wäinö, Finny, Ari & Janne! YIPPEE! What a fun trip we had, despite of the amount of packing, unpacking and carrying the crates and bags back & forth. Since we stayed over in Old Town, in a place where one cannot drive in and which does not even have an elevator...just quess :-). But since we knew it before choosing our place, it was pretty much ok. Looks like that every time we travel together, we laugh in tears and this trip did not make any difference - THANK YOU boys for being such great company!!! You can see some photos from the trip here. 25th May: Hamina INT and Markku Mähönen. Cold as always in Hamina. Neela BOB, CC & CACIB with wonderful critic. She was also picked up among 6 bests in Group, unfortunately not placed this time. BOB was Hugo, sire of our Rockin' litter - Congratulations to Hugo's family! Timon was RunnerUp Best Male with ResCACIB and Tuuli RunnerUp Best Bitch also with ResCACIB. I took Luka back home with us :-)! 24th May: Helsinki Aptus INT with Sari B-T from USA. Very odd day, only 2 Excellents out of 19 basenjis. Timon, Wäinö & Neela all with Very Good and Tuuli BOB & CACIB. I drove over to Kotka to stay over night with Luka and His Humans :-) , thank you so much Irja & Tero for hospitality! Luka & Neela reeeeeeeeeeaally had fun! In Oulainen Group-show Mrs Tuula Pratt chose Mama-Myy for BOB - later on she placed even 4th in Group. Youngster daughter Nyyti got Very Good - she definitely needs time to mature. 18th May: Jämsä Group Show, judge Unto Timonen. Thank you Ari & Janne again for taking Wäinö into the ring - BOB & CC again handled by Janne! The weather was horrible, we had gotten horrible storm the whole night and it was raining wet snow the whole morning, being say 1-2 Celcius only. Needless to say, the show was outside - hrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....They did NOT stay for the groups and I understand it 110% well! I got cold during the worktrip and stayed at home with running nose and sore throat. Neela absent too and did not bother really, cuddling up next to the fireplace with her best buddies, Pitsi & Rene. Little Robin entered his first show in Spain and was BOB-puppy! :-) Updated Health and Imports/Exports -pages and added new pics of Luna. 13th May: Updated lot of news and added new pics of Liina, Riina & Robin! More pics & updates coming up later .. 12th May: Saarbrücken show in Germany, judged by Mrs Lisbeth Mach (CH) - huge congrats again to Anne & Marcel & Liina won the Junior Class and got title VDH-Saarland Jugendsieger'08 and another Jun-CC! Congrats also to Noel for taking BOB & BIG-1 with Echo (daddy of our A-litter)!! 11th May: Bobi gave me a lovely gift for the Mother's Day: A win and first CC from the LureCoursing! He was late to start running but has ran few times to see how it goes....and it seemed to go now! Congratulations to Tiina & Risto! 10th May: Timon has been visiting us since Thursday since fam. Kyttä is travelling in Italy. He is so sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! I took him to the Finnish Cup 2008 - invitation only - LC competition and he ran just great! Congratulations for everyone, lots of great runs and the competition was very tight. 'Half-Bulldobas' Ciara got 2nd best points and won a CC :-), congratulations Cami!!! Timon 3rd with another CC, falsepregnant Kerttu 5th and Tepi 7th (all with CC-quality pointes) - I am so happy for you all! Thanks! 4th May: VDH-Europasiegerschau/Europa-Winner, Dortmund, judge: Elsbeth Clerc (CH) - Huge congratulations Anne & Marcel & Liina!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOO! First time in ring in Germany and not less than in Dortmund - Marcel guided Liina for BEST BITCH & BOS from a juniorclass and in a tuff competition!!! Liina won JuniorCC, Club-Junior CC as well as VDH-Europajugendsieger 2008 title :-). BOB was AM CH Wakili-Signet Gianni Versace and RunnerUp Best Bitch MultiCH Jasiri-Sukari Vermillion. Both BOB & RunnerUp bitch got VDH-Europasieger - titles since they also got CACIB's. Congratulations for them as well! 3rd May: Viitasaari group show - Again Heli, Juha & Rytmi - WELL DONE! BOB & CC :-)! Rytmi was not able to stay for the group, sorry. Lots of Matches around and several BIS-placings for our 'pups' - well done everyone! 1st May: Hollola group show and Mrs Annukka Paloheimo: Visited the show since was 'driving around' - Wäinö BOB & CC. Superb congrats for the breeder Henriette Folke & owner Camilla Rissa and of course for Miss Ciara - Liljeborg's Dan Galina of Phoebus - for the Finnish CH-title on the first try! Since Ciara is a daughter of CH Bulldobas Phoebus so considered as a familymember :-). 2th April: Vaasa INT and Pekka Teini: too far for me but some of ours were attending. Huge congratulations for Juha & Rytmi for a CC and 3rd Best Male as well as thanks a bunch for Heli for a help in handling! Nyyti & Nuuskis Very Goods (needing time...) and Stara unfortunately absent due an accident few days before the show :-(. 27th April: Created own pages for Robin, Aksu, Cisse, Riina & Taika! She had just gotten her rabies-booster a day before and got me really swetting with her tricks when stacked but we managed....Little Tuuli 2nd Best Bitch so could not have better with the 2 girls - congratulations Hansu & Janne!!! Timon performed just great, ending up 3rd Best Male and darling yougster Wäinö was just great, winning ResCC today - Thanks boys, you have trained him just great! 20th April: Jyväskylä INT and judge Kari Järvinen. Soni 3rd in Best Male, Timon 4th. Nuuskis & Rytmi both Very Goods. Kerttu & Neela both Excellents so I needed to choose which to take in Best Bitch. Nyyti Excellent. 19th April: Kiuruvesi group-show and judge Harto Stockmari: Mr Eino BOB - congratulations & Thanks for co-owner Heli! For the littleones Nuuskis, Toiwo & Nyyti it was a day of Very Goods - and yes, they _are_ very good, just still young and need their time. 12th April: Welcome to Finland Mr Finny! 4th April: I took off....without a dog...this time to Minneapolis, USA. THANK YOU SO MUCH, MY DEAR FRIENDS NANCY & SCOTT CRAIGIE, for pampering me again for closely to a week, you know how much I have missed you! It was also great to meet Siri again, as well as Soni's superb fullbrother, a younger version though, Mr Beanie...OMG he is GORGEOUS and what a sweet and lovely boy!!!! I had a pleasure to watch him 'free' on the garden several times a day and gosh he had it 'all'.... Good luck with him Nancy, I am sure you'll have lots of fun with him unless you take him to a total blind judge.....?! I want also say a huge Thank You for Carrie Jones who drove back & forth and I had a pleasure to meet Finny's lovely mom Shelby, gorgeous papa Conan, fit & well lgranny Whitney - 3 basenjis that I have always admired since pups. Also met Carrie's keeper, Finny's only but lovely sister Sophie and other b-family of hers. I was much more nervous of the flight than Mr Finny but even I did ok :-), after all. First night in Finland Mr Finny was sleeping with me on the sofa :-), great! Wäinö, a bigbrother, just adored him since the first sight and it was so hard to tell him to cool down, let him be, when he was SO happy, and the other he was so TIRED still of the long trip. Oh my. They are best friends and I am very grateful for Ari & Janne for giving Finny - and Wäinö - such a loving a home!!! 30th March Korpilahti group show 20 minutes from home and judge was Saija Juutilainen: Kerttu BOB and later Group-4, youngster Wäinö BOS & CC. The showplace was just as cold as always, hrrrrrrrrrrr :-(. 24th March: Lappeenranta INT. Way to goooooooooooooo fam. Kyttä! Under a tight judge Mrs Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen Mrs Tuuli went to win BOB and Mr Timon BOS! YAHUU! 16th March: Still in Vilna, Lithuania....(not me, but my daughter & Tiina A): Soni ResCC, Tepi CC, Tuuli Best Bitch CC CACIB. 15th March: Tampere INT. Thanks a bunch for Marika & Miika for a ride and company! Out of the entry of 36, we did just fine :-). Little Neela was shown for the first time for 5 mths and what did she do but went to win BOB & CC and later on even Group-2nd! Unfortunately no CACIB since she was in junior class.... BlackMan Nuuskis did not do much worse by going 4th Best Male and dear Timon was 2nd in CH-males. Nyyti got Excellent as well, from juniors. Also: My best bred, ie Isa The SuperDaughter, accompanied Tiina A to Lithuania with Tuuli, Soni & Tepi and yes, yes :-), Mrs Tuuli won the last needed CACIB and is waiting for the confirmation of her FCI INT CH title! Thank you so much Tiina for taking her with you and handling her! The show was officially Lithuanian Winner 2008 and she went BOB and also got CC & became Lithuanian CH plus is Lithuanian Winner 2008. Soni & Tepi also won their classes with Excellents. 7th March: I took off...with little Liina... to Germany! She is now officially VIP of a family Hürther/Schram and of course Bulldobas :-). It was great to meet puppy Jaro again and must say WOW - an Apple Has Not Falled Far. Like papa, like son. Just amazing! It was great to see how quickly Liina felt like home, despite of the fact that the travelling day was very long and scary for her - poor little needed to travel in cargo for the first time - yak. Thank you so much - Anne & Marcel... 4th March: Created own pages for Karma, Juno, Bono, Rene & Maisa! Also added new pics of all three litters in their photo galleries at New Puppies-page. 1st March: Juuka group show, judged by Mrs Tuula Savolainen (Finland) - Timon was BOB! 8th-10th Feb: Luka has moved to his co-owners and boy he was long waited for :-). Thank you fam. Taskinen for giving mr Luka such a loving home! We'll meet again kiddo, sooner or later! Also Liv flew from Oslo to pick up their little Luna, our darling little Princess! Thank you Liv & co-owner Ellen & fam. I think you should have lots of fun with her :-)! Luna lives with Mille the Basenji-girl and Cactus the Cat. And on Sunday: Huge thank you for family Toivola for adopting their 4th Bulldobas-boy, Tito :-). Sulo, Nappi & Valo have been thrilled about a new kid in the house, even the 'old brothers' have been ready to play and have fun with a youngster! He became Jaro after returning to his new home in Germany with friends Anne & Marcel. Thank you so much for everything! Jaro got to walk on the grass immediately - boy I envy him!!! See ya soon! 6th Feb: added new pics of A-litter on New Puppies -page and new photo of Kerttu. 2nd-3rd Feb: What A Weekend!! First on Saturday we got a message from Norway that Mr Echo finished his N CH -title by going RunnerUp Best Male and youngster Zina got Honour Prize from Junior Class! The next message told me that in the Eno group show Mr Timon was BOB and finished his CH-titles and later on went BIG-4! And the black kids of 13 mths did not do much worse - Nuuskis the half-brother was RunnerUp Best Male with ResCC and sister Nyyti was BOS with a CC! And that was not all for the day - a phone call told me that in Parkano group show Mr Wäinö was the only basenji in the ring who got Excellent and was also BOB with CC, he also made the cut in group! On Sunday we entered to Keuruu group show with Kerttu and Soni and it just couldn't go any better; Soni was BOB & BIG-3 and Kerttu was BOS, both got their last CC's and are brand new Finnish Champions!! :-) Huge congratulations and thank you's to everyone involved! 31st Jan: added new pics of A-, B- & C-litters on New Puppies -page as well as names of the A-litter! Also added new pic Rytmi 25th Jan: Diva's puppies are here!! This morning she gave birth to 6 puppies: 2 red/white boys, 1 brindle/white boy & 3 red/white girls - mom & puppies are doing fine :-) 12th Jan: added new pics of Zina, Echo, Nyyti, Rytmi, Relatives, Basenjis & other breeds, Isa & basenjis. Also added the names of Tuuli's puppies & new photos of B & C-litters to New Puppies -page! 8th Jan: Wonderful news from Norway: Echo is Top Winning Basenji Male 2007!! Huge congrats to Liv & Dag :-) 5th Jan: Our show year started again beautifully - in Kajaani INT, judged by Mrs Susan Kealy (Ireland), Kerttu was BOB with CC & CACIB and Eino was BOS with CC & CACIB - this also means that he finished his Championship in 1st possible show! :-) Timon was BD3 and Toiwo was BD4!
