Wes Craven, as the janitor,
is dressed up like Freddy Krueger; that's
why his name is Fred. This is a tribute
to the Nightmare on Elm Street films, which
Wes Craven also directed. - Renee
- The original title for Scream was Scary
Movie. - Dana
- Comment: I
guess that would explain that Scary Movie
is called that because it's a spoof of
this movie. - TAZ

When Stu was hit on the head
with the phone by Billy, that was actually
an accident on Skeet's behalf. Because the
fake blood was so slippery, the phone slipped
out of Skeet's hand and hit Matthew in the
head. Stu's response, "F**cken' hit
me with the phone dick!" was actually
Matthew's real response. The filmmakers
however thought it was funny and kept it
in. - Taryn

Scream was originally to be
filmed at Santa Rosa, Ca High School. When
the school board read the script they objected
to the violent nature and the production
was moved to Healdsburg, California. So
near the end of the credits, there is a
message saying "No thanks whatsoever
to Santa Rosa, Ca High". - Taryn
- When Sid is being chased by reporters outside
school check out an alburn haired woman (I
believe wearing a lime green suit). This actress
also played the daughter in The Exorcist.

- There are 3 killers in scream 1. The killer
just isn't revealed until the 3rd. Thanku.

- In Gale's van right above the little T.V.
if you look real carefully you can see a "Happy
Days" bumper sticker. A reference to
Henry Winkler who played the principal who
also played Fonzie on Happy Days. - Smiley
- Billy Loomis' last name is actually the
doctors last name in Halloween
(Dr. Loomis). - withluvxoxo
- Addition:
Billy Loomis is a reference to Sam Loomis
from Halloween,
but also, Sam Loomis himself is a reference
to the Sam Loomis from Psycho
(1960). (Source: Common knowledge) - KK79
- In the scene where the killer is knocking
on the principal's office door. He looks in
his little closet with his jackets in there.
Well look real carefully and you'll actually
see his "Fonzie" leather jacket
in there as well. - Smarty
- If you check the credits of Scream, you
will notice that Henry Winkler isn't credited
as appearing as the principal. If you go by
the credits, there was no principal. (Source:
the movie itself) - renray
- In the beginning where Billy sneaks into
Sid's room there is a song playing on her
stereo that says "Don't Fear The Reaper".
It is interesting because Billy actually ends
up being one of the killers. Also this original
version is first heard in the first Halloween
on Laurie's radio in her car. (Source: I know)

- Linda Blair (Exorcist girl) makes an appearance
as a reporter. (Source: http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/moviesecrets/scream.html)

- There's an excellent moment in the Principal's
office when Henry Winkler (Fonzie) is searching
his office for the killer. He turns to see
himself in the mirror and jumps - then, to
look cool he does a typical Fonzie run-hands-through-hair...
2ndly, when Randy (Jamie Kennedy) is on his
own shouting at the film (Halloween) he is
saying "Jamie, he's behind you!"
or words to that effect - I just thought it's
kinda ironic that that's what's happening
to him, and it's his name.... you know! (Source:

- David Arquette was originally up for the
role of Billy. (Source: DVD) - Eliza
- The actor, skeet ulrich, who plays "Billy
Loomis" in Scream, has often been referenced
to looking a lot like the actor Johnny Depp,
whose first movie was "Nightmare on Elm
Street" also directed by Wes Craven,
and both of there character are the boyfriend
of the main character, both climb into their
girlfriends window, and both of these actors
careers were launched by there part in these
"craven" movies. Just something
I thought was interesting. (Source: My thought)

- Drew Barrymore was supposed to be
cast as Sidney Prescott, but something
else "came up" and she couldn't
film the part. So she talked to Wes
Craven and the producers to give her
the role of the second victim, Casey.
They both agreed and Barrymore still
advertised the movie. (Source: Scream

- The masks that are worn in Scream
closely resemble the face in Edward
Munch's famous painting 'The Scream'.
